Vickery to make his debut as Rawlings takes over.

The Tigers first-round pick Tyrone Vickery will make his debut for Richmond against West Coast on Saturday night.

This is clearly a sign of the new direction of seeing which players we should be keeping at the end of the year rather than trying to win football games, if the Tigers happen to win games on the way that will be all well and good.

According to richmondfc.com.au “At 200cm and 89kg, Vickery is expected to be used more as a forward rather than in the ruck – the position he will develop into over the coming years.”

On another note, Matthew Richardson says he's looking forward to having his brother-in-law as coach. No surprise here even if Richardson hated Jade’s guts he loves the Tigers far too much to say a bad word about the club.

So with the youth policy clearly installed down at Tiger land we will see what the rest of the season has in store of us.

Number one victim of the youth policy has been former captain Kane Johnson who has announced his retirement this week. He has been given a job as a development coach with the club.
