The Tigers exhibition game against the indigenous All-Stars is up in the air as cyclone Yasi bears down on Alice Springs.

The All-Stars this morning cancelled their flight from Sydney to central Australia, while the Tigers are awaiting a directive from the AFL before leaving from Melbourne tomorrow.

Lightning and 100km/h winds are forecast for Friday night's match.

"I think the AFL are going to make a decision by lunchtime today," Richmond coach Damien Hardwick said.

Richmond had planned to play all of it's younger players and rest anyone with any real experience, ex Melbourne player Brad Miller was going to take the field as was draftees Reece Conca, Jake Batchelor, Dean Macdonald and Tom Derick.

There are suggestions the game could be moved for a second time to Sydney.

Indigenous All Stars game with Richmond is cancelled

Richmond was advised this afternoon that the game would not go ahead because of the state of the playing surface. An alternative venue is being considered.

NEXT week's match against the Indigenous All-Stars team has been moved to Alice Springs after monsoonal rain flooded Darwin's TIO Stadium.

Richmond CEO Brendon Gale said he was happy the game could still be played.

"It is fantastic that this game is able to go ahead - it really is a game, and a celebration of indigenous culture, that we are proud to be involved in," Richmond CEO Brendon Gale said.

Richmond add Bachar Houli & Brad Miller in the pre season draft.

With no suprise the Tigers selected Bachar Houli with the 3rd pick in the AFL pre-season draft today. Houli who has been out of favour at the Bombers should add some more run to the Tigers mid field.

In the AFL Rookie draft Richmond selected former Demon Brad Miller as a mature-age rookie, Miller was delisted by the Demons after nine years and 133 games. Richmond will he hoping Miller can provide another option up forward so the Tigerts are not so predictable whejn going inside 50.

Richmond also too Ben Jakobi from the Sandringham Dragons with the 11th Pick and Tom Hislop had been given another chance being picked up with the 45th pick.

Well at first glance this is not so good for the Tigers

Here is the Bad

• First 4 games are against Carlton, St. Kilda, Hawthorn & Collingwood
• Three interstate trips in four weeks (with a bye) 
• 6 out of a possible 7 interstate trips

 But as you read on it gets much better

• First 9 rounds are at the ‘G’ or Etihad Stadium (& not trip to Geelong) 
• Out of the 6 teams we play twice only two were top 8 sides in (Carlton & Sydney)
• 2 Friday Night Games, 1 Thursday Night Game (Good for club revenue)
• Only 7 Sunday Games this season
• The Run Home is West Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide & North Melbourne (If we are still in the hunt it is a good run home) 

All in All I think this is a good result for a tem that finished 15th last season.

“It is a challenging draw from a football perspective, but while our young team is evolving, they will benefit from playing in some big games, particularly early in the season,” said Richmond’s CEO Brendon Gale.

The Tigers will also kick off its 2011 NAB Cup campaign with matches against traditional foes Carlton and Collingwood, in the revamped pre-season competition.

Theses matches will be play at Etihad Stadium on Saturday, February 12, 2011.

Richmond and Essendon cant get a deal done for Bachar Houli by deadline.

Richmond my not have been able to do a deal to bring Bachar Houli over to Tigerland but Craig Cameron sounded very confident the Tigers will pick him up in the Pre-Season draft.

Houli's manager Dan Richardson said on Friday that Houli would not play for Essendon next year.

Richmond is believed to have offered Essendon a draft pick for Houli, but the two clubs were well short of a deal.

Richmond knowing that Houli wanted out of the Bombers were never going to offer too much for the mid feilder thinking they will take him in the draft.

Griggs for Collins deal completed

Richmond has completed its second trade for the week, acquiring Shaun Grigg from Carlton in a direct swap for Andrew Collins.

Tambling deal is official

Richard Tambling will play for Adelaide next season.

A deal to send Tambling to the Crows has just been signed off by both clubs.

Richmond will receive two draft picks from the Crows in return - a late first-round pick the Crows will receive as compensation for losing Nathan Bock to the Gold Coast, and Adelaide's third-round selection.

The compensation selection can be used in this draft or any year up to 2014.

“Gaining a compensation selection will give us great flexibility in the 2010 draft, and in subsequent drafts,” Richmond football manager Craig Cameron said.
