Early Tuesday morning the media reported that Richmond coach Terry Wallace would be fired that day. The Herald Sun were the first to report that sources close to Wallace had said he had been fired, then Craig Hutchinson went on SEN also claiming that he too expected Wallace to be fired later in the day.
As we now know this is not the case, Richmond held a press conference this afternoon where Tigers skipper Chris Newman and football manager Craig Cameron said Wallace would definitely coach the side against Essendon on Saturday night.
The Tigers claim there was no point where Wallace was not the coach of the Richmond football club, do I buy that not totally but I also don’t by the Herald Sun’s claims either.
All I know is this whole fiasco just keeps Richmond in the papers for all the wrong reasons as what seems to be the norm since around 1985.
